The University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension provides New Hampshire citizens with research-based education and information, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions that strengthen youth, families and communities, sustain natural resources, and improve the economy. As a University outreach program, they have a network of professional Extension staff located in all 10 New Hampshire counties.

NH Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food

The mission of the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food is to promote agriculture in the public interest and to serve farmers and consumers in the marketplace. The department assures safe and healthy food supplies, provides accurate information on prices and availability of farm commodities and crops and develops markets for the states farmers.

The department's responsibilities range from ensuring high levels of water quality for water supplies, ecological balance, and recreational benefits, to regulating the emissions of air pollutants, to fostering the proper management of municipal and industrial waste, to managing water resources for future generations.

NH Association of Conservation Districts

The NHACD provides statewide coordination, representation, and leadership for Conservation Districts to conserve, protect, and promote responsible use of New Hampshire's natural resources. The Association's programs and initiatives include NH Envirothon, New Hampshire Resource Conservation Corps (an AmeriCorps program), and the state Soil Judging competition.

The New Hampshire Association of Conservation Districts works collaboratively with county Conservation Districts, federal, state, and local agencies, nonprofits, and other conservationists as a volunteer, tax-exempt, nonprofit organization.


Federal Agencies

USDA Farm Services Agency (FSA)

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs as laid out by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices. FSA makes direct and guaranteed farm ownership and operating loans to family-size farmers who cannot obtain commercial credit from a bank, Farm Credit System institution, or other lender. FSA loans can be used to purchase land, livestock, equipment, feed, seed, and supplies. Loans can also be used to construct buildings or make farm improvements.

Provides funding opportunities for home ownership and repair and rental housing to low and moderate income households; provides leadership in building competitive businesses and cooperatives; provides loans and grants to develop or improve water and waste disposal systems.

Farm Credit

Farm Credit is a full financial services provider for agricultural businesses, offering a broad range of competitively priced loans, such as mortgages, seasonal loans and lines of credit. Additional services include equipment leases, record-keeping, tax planning and preparation, appraisals, business consulting, multi-peril crop insurance and so much more!

New Hampshire is served by two different farm credit agencies depending upon location.

First Pioneer Farm Credit – six counties not bordering Vermont

In fact, we offer $1,500 scholarships to deserving students who are pursuing careers in production agriculture, forestry, fishing or agribusiness. Yankee Farm Credit is a financial services cooperative for people involved in all aspects of agriculture.
We offer loans in many forms — long-term mortgage loans, operating loans, equipment loans, lines of credit and personal loans, with fixed and variable rates.

New England Grows

New England Grows is an educational partnership between the New England Nursery Association, Associated Landscape Contractors of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Arborists Association, Massachusetts Nursery & Landscape Association, and its network includes more than 30 allied Green Industry organizations. New England Grows attracts more than 15,000 professionals from every segment of the Green Industry and includes over 700 exhibitors.



New England Greenhouse Conference

The New England Greenhouse Conference is a meeting held on even years in Massachusetts for the entire floriculture industry of the region and surrounding areas, including production and retail. Held the last few years in Worcester, the conference has continually grown over its 32 years. It now has attendance around 2000, 3-days of 4 concurrent sessions, and around 250 trade booths.

New England Nurserymen Association

National Gardening Association

Tower Hill Botanic Garden encompasses 132 acres of gardens, meadows and woodland trails with a seasonal display of over 95,000 flowering bulbs. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens was founded in 1991 by a group of mid-coast Maine residents who envisioned ornamental gardens, protected natural landscapes, and education and research programs. Today it is the largest botanical garden in New England encompassing over 240 acres and one of a very few gardens with saltwater frontage – nearly a mile of waterfront property!
